Course Overview
The curriculum of this four-year programme inclusive of a 1-year internship training, is designed to expose students to the main concepts of occupational safety by focusing on the industrial hygiene which include assessment of exposure to various workplace hazards such as chemicals, noise, radiation and others. Students will be exposed to theories and practices of identifying hazardous agents in the workplace that could cause discomfort or disease, evaluating the extent of the risk due to exposure to these hazardous agents and the control of those risks to prevent ill-health in the short or long term.
Entry Requirements
UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass SPM/equivalent with good grades.
- Pass Sejarah in SPM.
- Credits in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia in SPM/equivalent.
- Pass STPM with minimum Grade C in 3 subjects including Pengajian Am and minimum CGPA 2.00.
- Pass Matriculation/Foundation with minimum CGPA 2.00.
- Pass Diploma from higher learning institution recognized by the Malaysian Government.
- Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 1.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass Diploma in any fields related to safety health, environment, science, technology or engineering course from UiTM with minimum CGPA 2.00.
- Pass Diploma in occupational safety or any science, technology or engineering course from higher learning institution recognized by the Malaysian Government with minimum CGPA 2.75.
- Pass Diploma in occupational safety or any science, technology or engineering course from higher learning institution recognized by the Malaysian Government with minimum CGPA 2.50 and 2-years working experience in environment safety and health field.
- Pass foundation or matriculation with minimum Grade B- in 2 subjects including Chemistry/Engineering Chemistry with minimum CGPA 2.00.
- Pass STPM with minimum Grade B- in 2 subjects with minimum CGPA 2.00.
