Course Overview
Materials Science and Technology is a multidisciplinary program covers the fundamental of sciences, structures and properties of various materials such as metals, alloys, polymers, ceramics and composites. It is a technological course focusing on a spectroscopic, characterization of materials, physical testing of materials, non-destructive testing of materials, processing and fabrication of materials that are embedded into a comprehensive curriculum design.
DIPLOMA UiTM GRADUATE
- Diploma in Science and Technology or Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and MUET band 2.
DIPLOMA GRADUATE FROM THE INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION RECOGNIZED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MALAYSIA
- IPT Diploma Graduate in related Science and Technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 and MUET band 2.
- IPT Diploma Graduate in related Science and Technology with two (2) years of working experience in the field of Materials Science and Technology / Materials Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and MUET band 2.
MALAYSIAN SKILLS CERTIFICATE (SKM) DIPLOMA RECOGNIZED BY THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT
- SKM Diploma Level 4 and above in one of the following fields:-
- Composite Manufacturing Technology (MT-011-5-2014)
- Plastic Production Technology (MC-100- 4:2012)
- Steel Making Operation (MC-076- 3:2013)
- Ceramic Craft Production (SS-023- 3:2013)
- Advanced Ceramic Production (MT-020- 3:2014) and recognized by the Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and MUET band 2
AND
- Passed SPM/ Equivalent with three (3) honours in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics / Additional Mathematics, Physics / Chemistry / Graphic Design / Industrial Design /Computer Science and passed English.
UiTM FOUNDATION/ UM SCIENCE FOUNDATION/ UKM FOUNDATION PINTAR/ KPM MATRICULATION GRADUATE
- Grade C (2.00) in Mathematics and Grade C (2.00) in two (2) of the following subjects:
- Physics/Engineering Physics
- Chemistry/Engineering Chemistry
with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and MUET band 2
STPM GRADUATE/EQUIVALENT
- Grade B- (NGMP 2.67) in the Mathematics Technology subject and Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in one (1) of the following subjects excluding General Studies:
- Chemistry / Physics
with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and MUET band 2.
APEL (ACCREDITATION OF PRIOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING)
- Pass APEL Assessment (Aptitude and Portfolio test) by MQA
- Not less than 21 years old in the year of the application
- Work experience in a related field for at least five (5) years
- Pass interview at the Faculty level
- MUET band 2
